Mission

Circle of Friends is a volunteer organization committed to supporting Kidspace Children's Museum through the fundraising efforts of members.

Since its inception, in 1991, Circle of Friends has raised nearly $5 million in support of Kidspace Children’s Museum’s operating budget.

Who We Are

Comprised of approximately 100 women, COF members hail from cities, such as Pasadena, Altadena, San Marino, La Cañada, South Pasadena and the surrounding communities.

Throughout the year, the group collaborates closely to host both the annual Benefit and — as of 2022 — a brand new Fall Event! These two gatherings:

  • Cultivate valuable relationships with the Community.

  • Raise ongoing funding for the museum’s operating budget.

  • Provide joyful, educational experiences to all children, in turn, supporting Kidspace’s mission.

  • Highlight Kidspace’s social duty “to nurture the potential of all children” by sponsoring thousands of underserved families and children.

  • Promote Kidspace to thousands of L.A. residents (vis-à-vis television news, print publications, and social media).

Around 60 Founder’s Circle members --women who were active in the group for five years — continue to support Kidspace Children's Museum through member events and social functions.

Circle of Friends does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion (creed), national origin, disability or sexual orientation.

Founded in 1991, our purpose is exclusively charitable.

History

Circle of Friends began in 1991 as a small group of dedicated community volunteers, with the support of the Susan and Stephen Chandler Family. They shared a common goal: to provide children of all backgrounds with free and broad access to the arts, humanities, and sciences.

Now in its 31st year, Circle of Friends continues to uphold its founding vision and maintain its mission to raise funds for the benefit of Kidspace Children's Museum.
